Outreach

Time permitting, I am always happy to engage with schools, cultural practitioners, museums, galleries, non-profit organisations, government organisations, community organisations, and the media, and to talk about my research to wider audiences. I have given talks to the UK Civil Service German Language Network and at the Austrian Cultural Forum London. I have also spoken and held workshops at secondary schools, university student societies, organised public film screenings (including co-organisation of preview screenings of Die Geträumten and director Q&As with Ruth Beckermann at King's College London and the University of Oxford, and a screening and director Q&A on Waldheims Walzer at the University of Aberdeen), and undertaken a German-English translation for a 2014 exhibition at the University of Nottingham on the centenary of the First World War.

I was shortlisted in the 2015 AHRC/BBC Radio 3 New Generation Thinkers scheme, and have a keen understanding of how to communicate academic research to non-specialist audiences.
